Working with Dial Translations
-
Each dial plan consists of a set of dial translation
rules.
The dial translation module uses these rules to match a destination
digits sequence and select a responder application. The module also
uses these rules to translate both the source and destination digit
sequences (both user and host parts).

The following sections describe how to work with dial
translation. Dial translations are managed using the Dial
Translation page.
To Display the Dial Translation Page

it

Number of rules associated with the dial translation.

- Initially, the Dial Translation page shows all the dial
translations in the system. To locate a particular dial translation,
you
can search criteria using the Find Plan field at the top right side of
the Dial Translations page, or the Reseller and/or Domain drop-down
lists at the bottom-left side of the Dial Translation page to filter
dial translations by reseller and/or domain.

If the number of dial translations shown exceeds what the
page can display, a next link appears at the lower
right area
of the page. Click this link to display the next page of dial
translations.

The Dial Translation page also has a Refresh
button.
After you add, edit, or delete dial translations, click this button
to update the contents on this page.
Finding a Dial Translation
-
Enter the first few
characters of
the dial translation in the Find Plan field. For
example, to
find the dial translation “Prepaid Passthrough,” you can type
pre or pass.

Click the Refresh button. Only the
dial translations
that match the characters you typed appear in the Dial Translations
page
Filtering Dial Translations by Reseller and/or Domain
-
To filter dial
translations by a
particular reseller, select a reseller in the Reseller
drop-down list.
-
To filter dial translations by a particular domain, select
a
domain in the Domain drop-down list.
The Reseller and Domain
drop-down lists can be used
together to narrow your view by filtering dial permissions by
reseller and domain.

Editing Dial Translation
- Change the values in the Modify Dial Translation dialog box

Adding Dial Translation Rules

From the Dial Translation page,
under the SELECT column, click SELECT
link for the
dial translation to which you want to add the translation rule. The
Dial Translation page for the selected translation appears

Complete the fields in the New Rule
dialog box
-
Click the Create button to
exit the dialog box, then click the Refresh button.
The dial
translation rule you added appears on the Dial Translation page for
that translation.

Destination
|
Destination is the match rule for the SIP To-URI as the
dial
translation module is entered. Wild cards can be used such as:

The
question mark (?) for a single digit.

The
asterisk (*) for any and all digits.
-
[digit-digit]
for a range of possibilities for one single digit.
For example, sip:[2-3]???@* can match 2 and three other
digits
or a 3 and three other digits, and so forth.
In the Modify Rule dialog box, this field is read only.

Application
|
The application selects what to do with this call if
there is
a match of destination.
|
Destination User Translation
|
Used to translate the user part of the To-URI. Can be
another
system User like 5200.
|
Destination Host Translation
|
Translation of the host part of the To-URI. For example:
when
you dial a certain number you may want to change domains.
(sip:5200@domain2.com)

Source User Translation
|
Translate the Source (To-URI) user part.
|
Source Host Translation
|
Translate the Source (To-URI) host part.

Description
|
Enter a description for the dial translation rule

Editing Dial Translations
There may be times when you need to edit a dial translation. To
edit a dial translation:

From the Dial Translation page,
under the SELECT column, click SELECT
link for the
dial translation whose rule you want to edit. The Dial Translation
page for the selected translation appears

Under the Destination
column, click the destination whose dial translation rule you want
to edit. The Modify Rule dialog box appears

Change the values in the Modify
Rule dialog box
-
Click the Modify button to
exit the dialog box, then click the Refresh button
to update
the screen.
Deleting Dial Translations
If you no longer need a dial translation, use the following
procedure to delete it from the system.

From the Dial Translation page,
under the SELECT column, click SELECT
link for the
dial translation whose rule you want to delete. The Dial Translation
page for the selected translation appears

Under the Destination
column, click the destination whose dial translation rule you want
to delete. The Modify Rule dialog box appears

Click the Delete button. A
precautionary message asks if you are sure you want to delete the
item.

Click OK to delete the dial
translation (or click Cancel to retain it).

Click the Refresh button to
update the screen.
Working with Dial Permissions
Dial permissions are created in the
Dial Permissions page and are assigned to users and connections. A
dial permission comprises a set of dial permission rules. The
permissions module uses these match rules to permit or deny the
dialed digits.
To Display the Dial Permission Page

edit the Domain or description.

Permission page shows all the dial permissions in the system. To locate

If the number of dial permissions shown exceeds what the page can
display, a next link appears at the lower right area of the page. Click
this link to display the next page of dial permissions.

contents on this page.
Filtering Dial Permissions by Reseller and/or Domain
Initially, the Reseller and
Domain fields contain an asterisk. This character
means the
Dial Permission page shows dial permissions for all resellers and
domains.

To filter dial permissions by a
particular reseller, select a reseller in the Reseller
drop-down list.

To filter dial permissions by a
particular domain, select a domain in the Domain
drop-down
list.
The Reseller
and Domain

Working with Call Routing
The call routing engine allows the administrator to designate
which route a call takes based on the dialed digits passed from the
Dial Translation module. One main route and two alternative routes
can be configured.
The following sections describe how to work with call routing.
Call routing is managed using the Call Routing page.
To Display the Call Routing Page

Finding a Static Route
You can find a static route using the name of a destination:
-
Enter the first few characters of
the static route in the Find Destination field. For
example,
to find the static route “627Netsapiens.com” you can type 627
or netsapiens.

Click the Refresh button.
Only the static routes that match the characters you typed appear in
the Call Routing page.
Adding Static Routes:

Complete the fields in the Route
Add dialog box

Click the Create button to
exit the dialog box, then click the Refresh button.
The
static route you added appears on the Call Routing page.

From the Call Routing page, under
the Destination column, click the destination whose

route you want to edit. The Route Details dialog box appears

Click the Delete button. A
precautionary message asks if you are sure you want to delete the
item.

routing (or click Cancel to retain it).

update the screen.
